Before & after hair removal
Yes! If you are having an intimate wax or sugar – as long as you are wearing sanitary protection, we are happy to still treat you. It doesn’t bother us and there’s no need to feel embarrassed.
You can! We’ve been removing hair from pre and post natal women for years!. We have a lot of experience and even if you are far through your pregnancy we can help you support your bump during treatment, so that you can feel comfortable.
If you are being sugared the hair needs to be the length of a grain of rice! That’s around half a centimetre. If you are being waxed we’d ask for 1cm in length.
Please exfoliate 48 hours before any hair removal treatment for the best results. If you aren’t sure of the best products to use – call us. We stock some very gentle, sustainable products or we can advise you of the things you might already own that could do a good job.
Exfoliate and moisturise! Please wait 48 hours post treatment but to avoid ingrowing hairs you must make exfoliation and moisturising part of your regular skincare routine.
Well it won’t tickle! But we are very gentle. We have been trained by the best in the business and whilst your very first treatment won’t be the best experience you’ve ever had, itll be all smooth sailing from there.
If you are going on holiday – wear the swimsuit or bikini you will wear. We can match up your hair removal service to the area. If you are having an intimate service we’d recommend fresh underwear and loose bottoms after the treatment.
The general rule of thumb is to avoid heat and friction. You could be prone to an infection as you now have an open hair follicle. For the rest of the day at least that means no to the pool, the sauna, the hot tu, sunbathing and hot yoga. Having a shower or bath the water temperature should be moderate, your skin will let you know it can’t withstand the hot temperature. The best way would be to avoid these things for 48 hours but we know life doesn’t always work out that way. Don’t forget to book your next appointment for 4 weeks time.
Yes! Although you must book monthly appointments. Sugaring regularly removes hair from the root and this damages the hair follicle, which means the hair will be unable to return.
Sugaring can help with ingrown hairs. Not only does it lightly exfoliate the dead skin, with a sugaring treatment, hair is removed in the direction of growth. Which causes less breakage and is less likely to form a bump. Your therapist will also advise you on a skincare routine to avoid future ingrowns.
Yes! Sugaring works really well on the face. As it removes hair from the root, clients experience smooth skin for 3 weeks and longer. If you suffer a hormonal imbalance it may be that we use a mixture of threading and sugaring if the hairs are particularly coarse.
Yes! Sugar paste can remove much shorter hair than wax. As short as 1/8 of an inch, or as long as a grain of basmati rice.
Sugaring works by applying sugar paste to the skin, allowing it to seep into the follicles, shrink wrapping the hair and then extracting hair from the root.
This depends upon where you are in your hair growth cycle. If we extract your hair whilst it’s still connected to the blood supply you could be hair free for up to 4 weeks. If you regularly shave at short intervals, it’ll take awhile to get your hair into a growth cycle where the majority of hairs are being removed during a treatment. Your therapist will advise you during the treatment, how best to achieve this.
